Government calls for manufacturing and exporting electronics

Mr. Piyush Goyal, the union commerce and industry minister, has stated that his ministry is the seeking to identify and select electronic items that would be manufactured in large scale within India for the purpose of export in large quantities. He interacted with the members of Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) via a video conference recently in which he invited the industry to give suggestions regarding such products and the changes in policies required to make them competitive. The government aims to help in creation of a conductive ecosystem for manufacturing and export of such electronic products at a large scale.

The Minister stated that the industries which are self reliant and grow without the support of government had made their mark, and that the electronics hardware sector should implement the root of increase in Innovation, Research, Development, Expansion and Exports. The Minister also highlighted the need for industry and the government who joined hands together in implementing the National Mission on Quantum Technologies & Applications (NM-QTA) the, which is used for solving extremely complex problems in computing, communications, cryptography, chemistry and mechanics.

The Minister stated that “This government works towards giving industry an enabling ecosystem and it is for industry to chart their futuristic agenda not only for creating newer capacities, but also making Indian products world class and that is the essence of Aatmanribhar Bharat”. He reiterated full support to the Electronics and Computer Software sector, stating that the industry has been indigenously increasing production from last couple of years, and expect to rise with the prime Minister’s call for “Aatamnirbhar Bharat”. He also said that his ministry was following up with RBI for the issue of having accurate data for software and services Exports from India.
